In the heart of Bluegrass Country, Lawrenceburg is community personified. A small town with a big heart, it’s where local businesses flourish and neighbors come together to create a vibrant, supportive environment. At the core is a shared sense of pride and a commitment to supporting one another.

Also evident is our residents’ support of local businesses, and the support local entrepreneurs show each other. From family-owned restaurants, boutiques, and distilleries to outdoor art spaces, and our many horse farms, local business bolster our economy, creating ripple effects of pride, happiness, and success.

Since 1965, we’ve dedicated ourselves to enhancing the lives of pets and their owners. Beginning with our inaugural Pink Pup line of shampoos, we’ve grown to offer a diverse selection of products to fit specific needs. Our Balance line incorporates the best ingredients found in nature. Our Kenic offerings have stood the test of time, and our award-winning Barktini Blends shampoos and colognes make bath time the happiest hour.

It’s not always delivered in an exquisitely wrapped box, topped with a perfectly tied bow is almost too pretty to untie. Sometimes, a gift is an answered prayer that renews our faith. Or the moment we pull up to the drive-thru window, open our wallet to pay, only to be told by the cashier that someone has paid for our meal. Gifts are powerful tools. When it feels like we’re carrying the weight of the world, a stranger appears with a door held open.

We are thankful for gifts, especially this year, when there have too many moments to count when burdens we shoulder are too heavy to bear.

This year has just flown right by.  I can’t believe the holidays are here.  As I reflect back on this year I am overwhelmed with the feeling of gratitude.  Glo-Marr continues to thrive each year and we have now been manufacturing for over a half century, 54 years.  Personally, I will be celebrating my 30th year working here in 2020.  I am so grateful to be a part of the pet industry. However, more than anything, I am thankful with realizing the blessing of working alongside my family.  Family is everything.

The month of November welcomes Thanksgiving and all its customary traditions: the food, the football and the families that celebrate them.

Traditions are as diverse as families, but we can agree that all are born out of a sense of pride that is years in the making, carefully crafted and uniquely curated. Many family traditions continue transcend the generations, whether it’s a favorite recipe, the specific manner of celebrating or a work ethic.

In my family, one sustaining tradition emerged from the seeds of an entrepreneurial spirit, an enduring love for animals, and a desire to formulate the very best all-natural products for pets.

I have always had a dog. I can’t remember a time when there wasn’t a dog in my life.  Outside dogs, inside dogs.  I am a dog person.

Enter “Rescue Cat”.  My daughter loves all animals and she finally convinced her dad that we need an indoor cat.  So, our house with dogs now has an indoor cat.  Two dogs, Rescue Cat, and us.  This is the order.

It’s summertime y’all! Kentucky summers are hot and humid but perfect for front porch sitting and plenty of sweet tea. We have beautiful Lake Cumberland located in the southern part of the state. The Kentucky River is super close to our plant and is great fun on a hot day. Kentucky has so much to offer during every season but summer in particular has so many great options.

Happy Easter!  Happy April!  Outside everything is getting green and the flowers are starting to really pop.  Keeneland Race Track will be happening and it is most definitely a place to see and be seen.  If you haven’t had the chance to hit a Spring Meet at Keeneland, that should be on your bucket list.

March in Kentucky is a roller coaster.  For starters, there is March Madness to survive.  I am a Kentucky Wildcat fan since birth and that passion tends to make me a bit hyper over the basketball situation in March.  Then there is the weather.  It is crazy.  Snow one day and then beautiful and warm the next.  Let’s not rule out our tornado warnings mixed into the spring forecast.  Is it Winter?  Is it Spring?  According to Siri, spring begins on March 20th.  According to the mud, all the wild critters, deer, skunks, birds, my dogs constantly wanting in and out... it is definitely spring time in Kentucky.

The month of love, hearts, and flowers.  I am not one of those girls who loves Valentine's Day.  I don't like it when there is this expectation put on us to be corny and obnoxious about love.  I guess this is why I love my dogs so much.  I love my cats too; even though cat love and dog love are totally different.  If you have both, you know what I mean.  My dogs, your dogs, love without expectation.
